Purple items - Guild Wars Forums

I have about three purple named weapons in my inventory now. They are things like axes and swords that I don't use, I'm kind of sitting on them cos I don't know what to do with them.

Am I best to sell them? Salvage them?

Well it depends on the type and what mods you can get from them. Give us a better discription of them so we can better advise you...

If they have runes in them (it would say you unlocked a rune when you identify them), you should use an Expert Salvage Kit to try to get a rune out of them.

If they are just normal purple weapons and you did not have to identify them (you only ident if it says "Unidentified" in the description), just sell them to a merchant.

If they are max damage weapons -- or very close to max damage -- you could try selling them to players. This also works if they have high damage for the area you are in. You can see the max damage, armor, etc. here: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/content...ies-id1275.php

If you are in a bind for crafting materials, go ahead and use a normal Salvage Kit on them.
